How long is the recovery time after a tooth extraction?

Recovery time depends on the type of extraction. For a straightforward extraction, 2-3 days is usually enough for the initial healing; more involved extractions can take longer. Your dentist will give you guidance specific to your case.

What is the difference between composite and ceramic veneers?

Composite veneers are sculpted directly onto the tooth in a single visit and are more affordable, but may need touch-ups over time. Ceramic veneers are custom-made in a lab over two or more visits, are more durable, and typically hold their colour better long-term.

At what age can my child start visiting the dentist?

Children can be seen from a young age, and starting early helps them get comfortable with dental visits. We offer child-friendly versions of common treatments such as scaling, fillings, and extractions for baby teeth.

How do I know if I need a filling or a root canal?

A filling is usually enough when decay has not reached the nerve of the tooth. If the nerve is infected or inflamed — often causing lingering pain, sensitivity to heat, or swelling — root canal treatment may be needed instead. An examination and X-ray will confirm which applies to you.

Is teeth whitening safe?

In-office whitening is a common, professionally supervised procedure, but it is not suitable for everyone — for example, it does not work on crowns or fillings, and some patients experience temporary sensitivity. Your dentist will check your teeth are suitable candidates before starting.

How long do dental crowns and bridges last?

With good oral hygiene and regular checkups, crowns and bridges can last for years, though this varies by individual, materials used, and how well the surrounding teeth and gums are cared for.

What should I do for a dental emergency, like a knocked-out or badly broken tooth?

Contact us as soon as possible by phone or WhatsApp. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, keeping it moist (in milk or saline, or in the mouth if the patient can safely avoid swallowing it) and coming in promptly can improve the chances of saving it.

Can braces be fitted on the same day as my consultation?

If you decide to go ahead and your teeth are suitable, braces can be fitted on the same day as your consultation — no separate appointment needed to start. Your dentist examines your teeth first to confirm suitability, and attending a consultation does not commit you to treatment.
